Local attractions...

What's a holiday without visiting local attractions, villages and towns? The whole Brittany area is a haven for nature, heritage, well-being, exploration, sports and leisure and the area has historic links dating back some 5,000 years. Brittany Tourism web site lists many of these attractions.

Indeed, you don't have to travel too far to see history...the area dates back over 2,000 years which, like most European countries, saw some occupation by the Romans. Stately homes, Chateaux's, castles, pre-civilisation ruins - they're all here to visit and enjoy, just remember your camera.

Brittany is not just about history though; the coastline is magnificent with individual identities of natural rock formations and megaliths. The landscapes here are truly breathtaking.
Even abandoned ruins, such as this old customs house on the beach, are readily available for you to explore but maybe you are after some sports and leisure time?

Hiking and cycling are amongst the most popular of pastimes in this area, probably due to the miles of flat land, but whichever way you travel, you will be blessed with the clean and fresh air to revitalise your body and mind.

There are also plenty of other activities; the beaches and sea are welcoming for swimming or playing volleyball and for the more adventurous, Brittany boasts some of the best weather for sailing and there are also numerous places for boating and kayaking. If golf is your passion, why not try one of the fabulous courses or if sea fishing is for you, then the breakwater at Kerfissien is a must.
