The local area...

Kerfissien is quite simply superb beautiful and unspoilt. As mentioned, the beach is a short walk from the gite, about 200m away, where you will also find a very nice restaurant called the "Pacific" where £10 will buy you a four course lunch including wine and water. Fancy a spot of fishing? There is a large breakwater on the beach which is an ideal place for it.

The main 2 km beach is great for swimming and when the tide is low you can see it is all golden sand so when the tide is higher and you go for a dip, all you have is lovely soft sand beneath your feet.

Approximately 150m from the gite is the local bar called "Les Embruns" or "sea spray" and you can even buy bread, eggs, butter, milk and other essentials from the owner, Pascal - be sure to mention you are staying at Greg's place:- "nous restons chez Greg". Every Sunday during the twelve week holiday period is a food market where you can purchase just about anything you need for your holiday.

Approx 2 miles  in each direction are 2 lovely towns , Plouescat and Cleder both have great bakers, restaurants, patisseries, butchers  and much more. Take a drive along the coast in either directions for fabulous beaches and scenery along with fishing villages, restaurants and bars. Lots of details are in the gite when you arrive .

I would really recommend this gite and the area for kids as well, I took my kids for 3 weeks and we had the most relaxing holiday ever. There are no penny arcades or tacky shops . We used to go to the local markets and buy everything for a great barbeque and then go to the beach when nice. After a few hours we would have a lovely barbecue and chill out. Just keep the freezer full of lollies etc, the fridge full of beer and wine and it makes a very relaxing and cheap holiday as the kids were not always on the want, they just wanted to play, swim or go rock pooling.

There are many places of interest to visit in the local area and all the details are in the gite or why not research Brittany on the internet?
